She joined Margaux Interiors Limited in 2009 where she worked for ten years before opening her own firm in 2019.

Clary is known for creating timeless interiors that layer color and pattern while being both elegant and practical, mixing in fine antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces. You recently designed the Daybed in Como, Robin’s Egg for your daughter’s big girl room! Walk us through the design process.

My daughter loves to play in her room, and with it being a smaller bedroom a daybed was the perfect fit for her big girl room. When I designed her nursery I picked fabrics and a wallcovering that I knew that would grow with her so when she was ready for a big girl bed I wouldn't have to totally change the design.  Her room had a beautiful accent wall covered in Iksel wallpaper , and I love bringing in the robin egg blue to bring out the blue accents in the wallpaper. We love reading books together at night in her bed, it is so cozy and beautiful.

Any tips for creating a kid’s bedroom that will grow with them for years to come?

I always try to create spaces that are timeless and beautiful for children. I accent them with art work , toys or accessories when they are babies to define the space as a nursery. Once they are ready for a big boy or girl bed the room is easy to transition.

You have a knack for creating the most serene interiors. Any tips for creating a soothing color palette that doesn’t fall flat?

I love mixing patterns and colors, while the colors all might be serene I think layering different fabrics gives the room a WOW factor.

Favorite places to save, and favorite places to splurge when designing a room?

I always find a room needs something unique like an antique or something vintage. Many times these special pieces can be less expensive than something new! I am always shopping at consignment shops, and antique markets to find special pieces often at a deal. I like creating interiors that are timeless so it is worth the investment up front so the space is long lasting . Often in children's rooms I shop boxed retailers for fun inexpensive accent items!
